History

In 2017, the Pacific Northwest District asked Mike Wilson (aka Doc Mike) to lead the District as the Chair of the Strategic Realignment Committee. That process led to the creation of Divisions renewed with names that represent the area where their Kiwanis Clubs serve. In late 2020 a final draft was made that would merge Clubs from Division 63 with Division 66 to form the new Division 49. The Clubs in this new Division elected to be known as the Mt Hood Area Division. Paul Viemeister of the Kiwanis Club of the Dalles served as the final Lt Governor of Division 66, handing the reigns to Ben DeRemer from the Kiwanis Clubs of the Gresham Downtowners and Gladstone – Oak Grove to serve as the first Lt Governor of the Mt Hood Division starting in the 2021-2022 Kiwanis year.
